I recently had the chance to visit the Alberta “Museum of Making”, a museum full of old steam equipment and best of all, CARS. I brought along my Panasonic GH4 and only 1 lens (whoops) to take some photos. If you have the chance, I highly recommend going to this museum, 1 trip is not enough to drink it all in.
Crazy Narwhal horn (tusk?) weather vane.
1895 Compound Steam Engine, “Mary”. 250HP
Various lathes and belt driven machines.
CARS!
1931 Buick, all original, even the paint.
Electric car, early 1900s late 1890s? Very cool
Speedometer drive
No steering wheel
Cigarette lighter
1948 Cadillac, with modern engine and disk brakes.
Chain driven dump truck, not sure of the year, the make, or the model.
1953 - 55 Gaz 69M
With a surprise...
Most Jalop Jag? Absolutely.
503 Chevy. 900HP.
Rear end capable of 2000+HP, accompanying engine is in the mail.
Then, something I had to leave the tour to gawk at. A real 1948 Vincent Black Shadow.
Dear Santa...
Blacksmith’s Shop
All handmade tools
Clarkson approved.
Very big steam powered hammer.
BIGGEST Steam powered hammer. Very Clarkson approved.
The Museum of Making is a very special place, I was very fortunate to be invited to see it, if you have the opportunity, do not miss out. There are so many other things that I didn’t even get a chance to photograph.

That Electric car is a Baker Electric - Jay Leno has one! :)
Wish we had museums like that here in Nova Scotia = I have an B.Ed but it’s hard to find teaching jobs here and I have a history degree and love mechanical stuff, especially cars.....a job at a place like this would be my dream job...
